[And then he notices Robert's reaction... the word "accepting" makes him feel... oh... oh, he really wishes he didn't react like that earlier now. Looks down in shame.]

That... h-he sounds... n-nice...

... F-Fake, essentially. Not... d-derived from real teas. They are... v-very rare on my world, s-save for... specialty c-cultivars...

[Most of the really commonly-consumed plants survived, but only due to sheer numbers. Though some teas survived, not all have.

... It's definitely different from Luceti.]

I... I th-think he would like you... [Then again, Helios never seems to dislike people.]

[In their own ways, the Beast and Robert both stand apart from others in Luceti, and even in their own worlds. Though Beast's differences may be more immediately visible, both are sometimes in positions where they have trouble connecting with other people.

Luceti levels that playing field.]

[Yes... yes, Luceti has many... many differences to his world. He never believed one person could recognise and appreciate him, let alone all, all these people he's gotten to know here, who just talk to him like any other human being... like it doesn't matter how he looks...

This thought alone keeps him silent, though it's evident how deeply he's thinking about it. Every... every time it's mentioned or he talks to someone he remembers how overwhelmingly accepting this place is...]

[Robert himself is silent a moment, just... allowing that to process in both their minds. He's not totally unaware of the significance - though Terrans take most of the physical differences of people for granted, the mental differences have been just as shocking for him.

Eventually he speaks again.]

... It is... one th-thing I truly enjoy about this p-place...

... That... acceptance.

A-a... acceptance... [It's the only thing he says, but there's a lot of feeling he puts into the word... ten years he's been waiting to resume a form... the only way he believed he could be accepted...

But here... Luceti changes all of that. He never thought it would.]

[That's something that, perhaps, neither of them ever would have expected.]

... As long as you are here, I... w-will make sure that you have that... a-acceptance...

... For now, th-though, I should... probably instruct you on, er, other a-appliances and their... uses...

[Oh Robert... Robert, how can he ever repay you?] I... th-th... thank you, Hastings.
